Wombat 2024 Prerides

Below is a list of Pre-Wombat rides to help you prepare for the ride in August.  Some are in your area and we hope you can join us.  Others might tempt you to travel a bit and enjoy some of our Wombat team.  Either way, we hope these rides will encourage you.  It also serves the purpose of introducing new people to our Wombat trip.  

White Pine Trail - Grand Rapids North

Date:  Saturday, May 4th, 9 am.  

Meeting Location:  Dwight Lydell Park, 4040 Leland Ave NE, Comstock Park, MI

Information:  We will be riding north on the White Pine Trail to Cedar Springs, and then back again to Comstock Park.  This will be a 34 mile ride on a paved trail.  In case of inclement weather we will decide by 5 am of that day.  Keep an eye on the Wombat facebook for any updates.  After the ride, we will enjoy a lunch together.

Lower Huron Metro Park Trail - Belleville, MI

Date:  Saturday, May 18th, 9, 10 am

Meeting Location:  1st Picnic area on your right, as you come into Lower Huron Metro Park.  Take exit 192 off of I-94(Haggerty Rd).  Go south on Haggerty Rd. Haggerty Rd empties into the park.  There is a county vehicle entrance fee to the park.  

Information:  This is a paved trail that follows a river.  It is one of the most beautiful rides you will find in the metro area.  It is 100% trail in the middle of many nature trails.  Our turn around point is in Flat Rock at the nature center.  This trail actually goes all the way to Lake Erie.  We will have a picnic lunch after the ride back in Belleville, at the start of our ride.  Bring your own lunch.

Harsens Island Ride - Algonac , MI

Date:  Saturday, June 29, 10 am.  

Location:  Clay Township Park, 4768 Pointe Tremble Rd., Algonac, MI.  We will meet there in the park, ride to Harsen's Island Ferry, cross St. Clair River, and take a 25 mile ride on the island.  There is no cost for bikes on the ferry.

Information:  After the ride, we will eat at "Harsen's Island Schoolhouse Grill".
