SAG (Support and Gear):
All SAG support is for the entire WOMBAT group, there are no personal sags. All participants of Wombat (cyclists and sags) are responsible for their own tent and air mattress, camp chair, clothing and personal effects which should be packed in one or two tubs and includes packing and unpacking from the trailer. New this year is a service being offered at a cost for tent and air mattress rental only.
There is no registration cost for all sags which include overnight stays, breakfasts and dinners (excludes any tent and air mattress set up service cost). Each sag is responsible for own gear which includes tent and air mattress (unless using tent set up service), clothing, bedding, camping chair, medication, toiletries and money for lunches and incidentals.
There are 2 teams of road sags which include a driver and a navigator. Drivers must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver’s license. Navigators must have good navigational skills including map reading. Duties include finding locations for bathrooms, lunch and rest breaks along the route, be available for emergencies such as bike breakdowns or medical issues which may include transport to a bike shop or emergency room and give assistance with some duties at the overnight sites.
There are 3 vans pulling trailers that need drivers to go from one to the next overnight site. Drivers must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver’s license. Duties include helping break down and pack each overnight site including any rented tents and air mattresses, help load any site equipment and drive to next overnight site. (All personal tubs, tents, chairs are the responsibility of each participant to break down and pack into the trailers) and be ready to assist other camp sags with duties as needed.
OTHER CAMP SAGS:
There is a need for individuals to be able to help with some overnight site setup which may include setting up tents and air mattresses available for rent and other duties during the overnight stays.
